SELAH'S STATEMENT OF FAITH

We, at Selah’s Center of Hope, are represented by various denominations of the Christian faith. While we may have differences with regard to doctrines, we are unified in the central focus of the Gospel which is the abiding faith in Jesus Christ. It is this faith which bears the fruits of righteousness in our lives so we can show the love of Christ to our clients in hopes they can experience the power of His love.

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in the Kingship of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His bloodshed, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling, the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

We believe the ultimate purpose of life is to do God’s will in our example of Christian life, and to evangelize His word in truth to others in the Gospel. With our salvation and changed hearts we strive to teach the Word of God beginning within our own families and through evangelization to a suffering humanity.

We believe human beings are created by God in His image as male and female. Therefore, every person, from conception to natural death, possesses inherent dignity and immeasurable worth—including preborn children, elderly individuals, those with special needs and others marginalized by society. Christians, then, are called to defend, protect, and value all human life.

“For You created my inner being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:13-14
